Technetix family of multitaps deployed for Mediacom’s DOCSIS 4.0 customer launch in Illinois

September, 29, 2025, Englewood, U.S.A – Technetix is pleased to confirm that their 1.8 GHz multitaps have been selected by Mediacom Communications for their DOCSIS 4.0 customer launch in Moline, Illinois.

Deployments of Technetix’ award-winning XFO faceplate-only swap, and OTTZ taps in Mediacom’s first DOCSIS 4.0 customer launch in the Moline area have been successful. Engineered to streamline network upgrades to 1.8 GHz, the XFO series and OTTZ multitaps support existing 1.2 GHz frequencies to provide smoother legacy-to-upgrade transition for HFC networks. Mediacom’s consumer-focused DOCSIS 4.0 rollout in Illinois reinforces the adaptability of their infrastructure, and dedication to providing premium subscriber service for real-world demand.

Paul Broadhurst, Technetix CEO and Founder, says, “The Mediacom launch is an immensely exciting moment in HFC’s evolution. Not just for Illinois, but globally: it demonstrates cable broadband’s enduring range, strength, and economics, now and for years to come.” Commenting directly on the partnership between Mediacom and Technetix, Broadhurst adds, “Mediacom’s decision to go with our multitap solutions underlines their trust in what we do and reinforces our position within the vendor landscape in North America.”

JR Walden, CTO of Mediacom, says, “We are proud to be working with Technetix and their family of multitaps in our DOCSIS 4.0 customer launch.  The XFO 1.8 GHz faceplate upgrade for existing tap housing is a game changer.”

Technetix’ XFO multitap series is an award-winning faceplate-only retrofit solution developed for ultra-fast, splice-free installation that eliminates service downtime during network upgrade to 1.8 GHz. It is compatible with Motorola, Regal and Cisco-style legacy housing.

Technetix’ OTTZ multitap model is a full outdoor tap replacement, with capacity to support frequencies up to 3.0 GHz, and up to x4 faster installation than traditional designs.
