Paul Broadhurst
Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Board member
Paul Broadhurst is the President, Founder and Chief Executive of Technetix Group Ltd. The company was founded by Paul in 1990, he has since developed extensive global networks within Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia Pacific. Paul is responsible for the strategic development of the company, working closely with his senior management team across the globe to achieve aims and objectives. He has a B.Eng. degree in Electronic Engineering from University of Liverpool, an M.Sc. degree in Microwave and Optics from University College London, is a Chartered Engineer, a member of the IET (Institute of Engineering and Technology), European Engineer (Eur. Ing.), and a member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, USA). He has also been inducted into the class of 2020 Cable TV Pioneers. Paul is chairman of the Technetix Strategic Advisory Board, which was formed in 2019.
Duncan McIntyre

Board member
Duncan became non-executive chairman of Technetix in 2009 and is a dynamic business leader and investor with a focus on driving growth and value. Prior to this, he was the Chief Executive and a major shareholder of Morse PLC, a computer company which he grew from being a small UK-based business to an international and quoted market leader. He was the Chairman and a key member of the team which built Monitise PLC, a mobile banking and payments company, from concept to a market leading position and then to its subsequent billion-pound market capitalisation. He was the Chairman of Profero, a digital advertising agency, where he was key in re-establishing the business and then selling it to Interpublic Inc. Duncan continues to invest, chair and advise a number of companies.
Robert Bell

Robert Bell joined the board of Technetix in February 2022 as a highly experienced, commercially focused CFO, with responsibility for finance, operations and IT. His industry experience is wide, spanning engineering, technology media & telecoms, transport, professional services and manufacturing, with specific knowledge of international supply chain and offshore manufacturing. Robert has completed over 40 mergers and acquisitions, attracted new investment and driven significant shareholder value in his previous roles with Cawood Scientific, Waterlogic, Trema and Fidessa.
Jan Ariesen

Jan is an experienced engineer with over thirty years’ of broadband cable TV design experience; Jan currently leads the CTO, Marketing, R&D, and QA teams at Technetix. His main focus is to liaise with key customers and be the Technetix technology advocate, developing new technologies and product platforms. Jan joined Technetix’ acquisition Tratec in 1983. Before 2008, Jan was Technetix’ VP of Engineering leading teams in the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands that were responsible for researching, developing and inventing new products and technologies. Jan joined the Technetix board in 2018.
John Brougham

Board member
John Brougham joined the board of Technetix in January 2010 as an independent non-executive director, he is also Chair of the Audit Committee. He has more than 45 years working experience in the electronics, telecoms, and software sectors, with 35 years at director level. John retired from his last full-time role as Chief Financial Officer of Monitise plc in 2012. He has held non-executive director roles since 2007, where he acts as Chair of the Audit or Finance and Performance Committees for both public sector organisations and listed companies.
Colin Büchner

Board member
Colin was appointed to the board of Technetix in July 2016 as a non-executive director. Colin is a telecommunications professional with many years of experience in the industry. He is also the Managing Director, Chief Network Officer for Liberty Global where he has been since 2001. In this role, he is responsible for developing the strategy and driving innovation as well as all planning and engineering activities to assure the network is able to satisfy current and future business demands. His role also covers the Liberty Global Data Center strategy as well as the operation of all shared IT and product platforms. Prior to joining Liberty Global, Colin worked for several telecommunication companies including Vodafone, Viag Interkom and RSL COM. Colin was appointed as a member of the Technetix Strategic Advisory Board in 2019.

President, Lindsay Broadband Inc
David has been President of Lindsay Broadband Inc. since 2005. Prior to that he held many roles with Lindsay Electronics including President, Director of Sales & Marketing and Regional Sales Manager. A 40+ year veteran of the cable TV industry, David is a customer-oriented listener and has spearheaded the development of many client-specific, custom requirements into real industry solutions.
Francois Giraud-Sauveur

Francois is a business development and sales professional with over 20 years of telecommunications industry experience. Since joining Technetix in 2008, he has successfully driven the sales function across Europe (Country Manager, VP Sales, CSO). In 2013, he joined the Technetix exec team as Chief Sales Officer. Francois has led Sales, Sales Order Processing, Sales Engineering and Customer Service teams across 20 different countries. A French national, Francois graduated from the international business school ESCE with a Masters degree; he worked for Acome from 1998 to 2004 as Export Manager and then for Sagem Communications from 2004 to 2008 as a Sales Director in the set top box business unit.
Rachel Venn
Group Finance Director
Rachel Venn joined Technetix as Group Finance Manager in 2017, she was subsequently promoted to Head of Group Finance before being appointed Finance Director in 2020. Rachel joined the Executive Team in 2021 and is responsible for leading the finance team at Technetix and supporting the business in delivering its financial strategy.
Prior to Technetix, Rachel was Financial Controller for AXA Assistance UK, serving as part of their leadership team and joining AXA Groups’ diversity and inclusion agenda as a regional lead. Rachel qualified as a Chartered Accountant with the ICAEW in 2014.
Premton Bogaj
Vice President, Product Management
Premton Bogaj is a highly gifted engineer starting his broadband career at IPKO telecommunications as an HFC network designer. He joined Technetix in 2009 as Sales Engineering Manager, where he was responsible for technical support of the sales team covering Technetix customers in Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia-Pacific. In 2020, Premton moved to the Netherlands office to take on a new role as Product Manager, Access Network Solutions. During this time Technetix launched the award winning 1.8 GHz Direction Neutral diplexer less amplifier (DNA-1800) and led the development of the DBx smart DAA nodes, fiber nodes and RF amplifiers. In August 2021, Premton was appointed Vice President, HFC Networks and has subsequently been appointed to the core executive team as Vice President, Product Management. Premton leads HFC product management and his key focus is on bringing new technologies, solutions and products to the market.
Premton holds a BSc in Telecommunications from the University of Pristina.
Johan van der Tang
Vice President, Engineering
Johan van der Tang heads up the group research and development function, having joined as VP Engineering in August 2022. His career began in 1995 at Philips Research in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, working on fiber optic and satellite systems. Johan previously worked at Broadcom where he designed integrated circuits used for broadband cable DOCSIS modems and Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA) in home networking data transceivers. He then later worked for five years on ZigBee low power wireless transceivers for Qorvo. Johan then joined Dialog Semiconductors (now Renesas) Connectivity & Audio Business Division as a senior director for hardware engineering. At Dialog he led multi-disciplinary teams working on connected System on a Chip (SoC) design, digital signal processing (DSP) and system-level applications for customers located in the USA, Europe and Asia.
Johan holds a PhD degree in Electronical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands. He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, USA (IEEE) and has published over 50 IEEE papers, several engineering books and six patents.

Member of the Strategic Advisory Board (former CTO, Kabel Deutschland)
Coming from a background in internet and cable tv technology, Lorenz currently advises players in the telecommunications arena with a particular focus on innovation. From 2006 to 2015 he was CTO of Kabel Deutschland (KD), Germany’s biggest cable operator. In 2010 Lorenz was part of the executive team preparing and executing KD’s highly successful IPO and three years later pitching and selling the company to Vodafone. From 2009 to 2015 Lorenz served as the chairman of the European arm of CableLabs. Prior to his role at KD, Lorenz worked as senior vice president of network and systems design and architecture for Liberty Global in Europe. Lorenz was educated at both the University of Vienna and the University of California, Santa Cruz and received an MSc. in Physics in 1995.
Jay Rolls

Jay Rolls was the SVP & Chief Technology Officer at Charter Communications, Denver CO from 2011 to 2019. He and his team were responsible for engineering and architecture across all aspects of Charter’s wireline business. Previously, Jay served in a variety of roles during 13 years at Cox Communications including SVP of Technology. At Pacific Broadband he was the VP of Business Development and between 1999 to 2000 served as VP of Network Engineering at Excite@Home. Earlier in his career, Mr. Rolls spent nine years in Germany with Alcatel and BBN Communications (now Level 3). He began his career working in the US intelligence community. Jay received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia in 1983 and a M.S. in Systems Management from the University of Southern California in 1988.
Ron Coppock
Member of the Strategic Advisory Board (former President of Sales, Arris International)
Ron Coppock has consulted on strategy for Technetix since October 2017. Ron retired from Arris in May 2017 serving as EVP and President of Global Sales and Marketing after 26 years with the company. He joined Arris through Antec which became part of the Arris Interactive joint venture with Nortel Networks. Antec bought out Nortel from the JV in 2000 and kept the Arris name. Arris grew and expanded during Ron’s tenure including a string of acquisitions including major acquisitions of Pace PLC and Motorola Home as well as other deals including C-COR and BigBand Networks. Ron was part of the strategic team that put all of these deals together. Ron was inducted into the Cable TV Pioneers in 2013. Ron also dedicates time to personal and charitable interests including the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Board, the National Incarceration Association and Auburn University Alumni Association.
Derek Elder
Member of the Strategic Advisory Board (former CEO, Concurrent)
Technetix welcomed Derek Elder to the Strategic Advisory Board in July 2022. Derek has spent his career in the telecommunications industry bringing extensive global experience from his time as CEO and Director of Concurrent Computer Corporation (NASDAQ), President of Sercomm Corporation (TPE), Independent Director of Vecima Networks (TSX) and Senior Vice President at ARRIS. Derek currently leads Sky Advisors, a telecom-focused strategy consultancy and sits on the Board of Directors of Miratech Group and QTRACT. Derek Elder holds both a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland and a Master of Business Administration degree from The Pennsylvania State University. A respected NACD Governance Fellow with the National Association of Corporate Directors, he is also a patent holder and maintains an active secret security clearance.
Tony Werner
Member of the Strategic Advisory Board (former CTO, Comcast)
Tony Werner joined Technetix as a strategic advisor effective from January 1st 2023. He retired from Comcast Cable at the end of 2022, where his 15-year legacy as Chief Technology Officer and then President, Technology, Product, Xperience, accelerated the pace of innovation within Comcast. His team created the features that helped the X1 win Emmy Awards for both user experience and the groundbreaking X1 voice remote. In 2016, Tony won a Lifetime Achievement Emmy Award in honor of his distinguished career as a technologist, innovator and leader.
Prior to Comcast, Tony served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Liberty Global, Inc. in Englewood, CO. He has more than 40 years of engineering and technical management experience, having also held senior management positions with Qwest Communications, Aurora Networks, TeleCommunications, Inc. (TCI)/AT&T Broadband, Rogers Communications, Inc. and RCA Cablevision Systems.
Tony served as President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) and the SCTE Foundation from 2015-2017. He has been inducted into the Cable and Broadcast Hall of Fame, as well as the Cable Center Hall of Fame. In 2000, Tony received the NCTA Vanguard award for Science and Technology. He holds numerous patents and earned his degree in Telecommunications from Dakota County Technical College in Rosemount, MN.
Nader Foroughi
Member of the Strategic Advisory Board (CTO Americas)
Nader was appointed Chief Technology Officer, Americas, in June 2022. He brings over a decade of experience to Technetix, most recently as a Principal Architect at Shaw Communications. Much of his career has been spent working in research & development, primarily focused on the evolution of broadband access systems and data analytics. He is a tenured industry panelist and speaker at the SCTE and CableLabs conferences. Nader has published numerous white papers and has been a primary contributor to several recent industry developments, including DOCSIS 4.0 and distributed gain architecture (DGA). Nader holds a double major in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, as well as a certificate in Systems Architecture & Management.
John Chapman
Member of the Strategic Advisory Board (CTO Broadband and Fellow at Cisco)
John Chapman was appointed to the Strategic Advisory board in February 2023. He is currently CTO Broadband and Fellow at Cisco. He is a senior executive with decades of experience of leadership, strategy, innovation, and execution. John co-founded the cable business unit at Cisco as an internal startup. Under John’s vision, technology leadership, and execution, the unit grew to a $1B business, making it the most successful internal startup ever at Cisco.
With over 130 patents and 50 published papers, John is a prolific inventor. He has repeatably gone through the stages of creating an idea, setting the strategy, architecting a solution, writing specifications, pitching the product to customers and executives, getting funding and then working with a large team to build, ship and support that product. Some of John’s original contributions to the cable industry include Remote PHY, FDX DOCSIS, LLX, channel bonding, DSG, and DTP. Prior to Cisco, John worked at ROLM, IBM and Siemens.
John was inducted into the Cable TV Pioneer society in 2015 and into the SCTE Hall of Fame and the Cable Circle of Eagles Society in 2012. He has also received the Chinese National Innovation Award in 2012 for his invention of Remote PHY and three Pioneer awards in Cisco. CableFax included John in the 2021 and 2022 Top 100 Power Players list.
