April 1, 2025, Albourne, UK – Technetix is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Jan Uddenfeldt to the company’s Strategic Advisory Board, effective from April 1, 2025.
Jan is former global CTO of Ericsson and his career spans almost 50 years within the wireless industry. He is a principal innovator and pioneer of GSM, 3G and 4G creating a strong technology leadership for Ericsson.
Now based in Silicon Valley, Jan founded jUTechnology LLC in 2013, and serves on the board of directors for a portfolio of startups in areas such as AI, wireless, IoT, and navigation. His position as the global CTO and Senior VP at Sony Mobile Communications between 2010 and 2013 supported the company’s transition to Android smartphones and culminated as Sony Corporation global CTO’s Senior Advisor (2013 to 2019).
Prior to this, Jan held a 32-year tenure with Ericsson between 1978 and 2010, assuming senior positions including the role of global Chief Technology Officer and Senior VP. Here, he was responsible for the R&D for GSM, 3G, 4G, and IP networks. His relationship with the company has continued in an advisory capacity.
Jan received his Ph.D. from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm in 1978 and an honorary doctorate degree from the University of Lund in 1996. He has been awarded with several prestigious prizes in Europe, US and Japan and is a member of the Wireless Hall of Fame.

Jan joins Technetix’ strategic advisory board, chaired by Broadhurst, alongside Tony Werner, a director of Technetix and Liberty Global and former CTO of Comcast; Lorenz Glatz, former CTO of Kabel Deutschland (Vodafone Germany); John Chapman, former CTO Broadband and Fellow at Cisco; Jay Rolls, former SVP and CTO of Charter Communications; Ron Coppock, former EVP and President of Sales of Arris; and Colin Büchner, Chief Network Officer of Liberty Global. Technetix executives in the strategic advisory board include Jan Ariesen, Group CTO; Hernan Benavides, CTO Americas and Patricio Latini VP of Sales, Caribbean and Latin America.
